Baumgartner Law Firm Announces Law Student Scholarship Winner

Today, the Baumgartner Law Firm announced the 2014 winner for its first annual Baumgartner Law Firm “Law Student Scholarship.” Hensleigh Crowell, a student at the University of Texas School of Law, has been awarded $3,000, which will be used to pay for tuition, books, and other law school expenses.
The scholarship is limited to students enrolled in an accredited law school in the state of Texas.
Candidates were judged on personal merit, academic performance, and community service. All of these factors gave a wide spectrum view of each candidate’s overall exemplary leadership skills in the field of law.
Ms. Crowell, has a current GPA of 4.06 and is expected to graduate from the University of Texas School of Law in 2016. In addition to receiving this scholarship, her accolades are also numerous. She has received the Wayne Justice Center Public Service Scholarship, the Dean’s Achievement Award for Outstanding Student in Legal Research and Writing award in 2016, Outstanding Student in Constitutional Law in 2014, and was recently awarded Pro Bono Superstar, which is awarded to students who perform the most pro-bono hours.
In addition, Ms. Crowell can also be lauded for her legal and humanitarian experience. In 2008, she held an internship with Grace Place Catholic Workers Home, where she provided both psychological and emotional support to resident women in order to provide a more formidable transition out of homelessness. From then on, Ms. Crowell has shown proven leadership skills, working with Otisville Prison, R.E.A.L. Skills Network, Inc., which is an after school program for school-age children. She has also worked with the Osborne Association, the Innocence Project, as well as the Texas Defender Service.
