Vehicle Maintenance – Texas Has An App For That

The Texas Department of Transportation has initiated a new program called Roadcents and has created an app that helps owners reduce their emissions and keep vehicles in top maintenance condition.
This is part of a ongoing campaign called “Drive Clean Texas” to help the families in Texas save money and keep their vehicles and proper operating condition which in turn reduce air pollution in the state.
The app is web-based and you can access it by clicking here. To use the app you simply create an account and login with your vehicle information.
According to the website, motorists can save almost $800 a year in gas by driving more friendly and following the advice on the website. Additionally, fuel filter changes and changing oil can also save up $100 a year on fuel expenses. Some other tips include how you warm up your car and the actual costs of deferred maintenance on your wallet.
The driving force behind the Texas DOT program is to reduce air pollution by helping families keep their vehicles properly maintained.
The Dallas Cowboys in conjunction with the Texas DOT are offering a 2015 Ford fusion hybrid as part of the Texas Roadcents sweepstakes which is open to Texas drivers who are at least 18 years old and register on or before December 10, 2014. Other prizes include football tickets for finalists.
