Recent Houston Car Accidents
Written by greg on June 20, 2012
As per my usual modus operandi – I like to offer a recap of recent auto accidents in the Houston area.
Although we have a relatively safe driving record in light of the fact that we are the third largest metropolitan area in the country – it is my intention that recounting events will serve as a reminder to my readers to drive safely and how accidents can happen in a split second. According to recent reports:
*One of three motorcycles trailing an 18-wheeler loaded with yard equipment slammed into the back of the truck when it slowed to turn – leaving the female passenger in critical condition and the driver in serious condition. The other two motorcycles were able to avoid the crash. Other circumstances of this motorcycle accident are unknown at this time.
*An elderly female – a retired math teacher – was the victim of a hit-and-run accident that ended in her death. Witnesses reported seeing a green Toyota hit her – and the car never even slowed down or stopped. The family is asking the public to come forward with any information they may have concerning the accident or the driver in this Houston hit and run accident.
If you have information that may be helpful please call the Houston Police department – Hit & Run division at 713-247-4065.
*In an accident in which alcohol is suspected to have played a role – a vehicle crashed through the fence of a Woman’s hospital – barely missing a parked ambulance – and continued traveling at a high rate of speed before coming to a stop against a guard rail. The driver was transported to a nearby hospital where he remains in serious condition with various injuries while his passenger only suffered minor cuts and bruises.
Drive with caution and remember friends don’t let friends drive drunk!
