Hyundai and Kia Recalls

The national Highway Traffic Safety Administration recently announced a recall of approximately 1.6 million vehicles due to issues with a brake switch. A similar recall was issued a few years ago for approximately 700,000 vehicles, according to reports.

As reported, more than 600,000 Kia units and about 1 million Hyundai vehicles were affected by the recall. Brake switch malfunctions were feared which could lead to accidents. Other potential problems could include such things as cruise control issues or other items.

The manufacturer is reportedly seeking to replace the brake light switch on affected vehicles.

*2011 Kia Optima

*2007 – 2010 Kia Rondo

*2007 Tia Sedona

*2007 – 2011 Kia Sorento

*2010 – 2011 Kia Soul

*2007 – 2010 Kia Sportage

*2011 Hyandai Sonata

*2007 – 2010 Hyandai Elantra

*2010 – 2011 Genesis Coupe

*2007 – 2011 Santa Fe

*2007 – 2009 Tucson

*2008 – 2009 Veracruz
