A police report indicates that two pickup trucks crashed head on killing drivers of both vehicles. A child was in one of the pickup trucks and was taken to the local hospital.
The accident happened Wednesday night in Baytown, Texas approximately 10 in the evening at the 3800 block of North Main close to Hartman. The Baytown Police Department is investigating the cause of the crash and has yet to release details on the victims.
A later report indicates that the survivor was a three-year-old boy and the boy is in critical condition at the hospital. Lets hope and pray that the young boy survives and recovers from his injuries.
Further the investigation has indicated that one of the drivers lost control of the pickup and swerved into the oncoming lane of traffic thus crashing into the other pickup truck.
The focus of the investigation at this point appears to be directed toward why the driver lost control of the pickup truck which caused the vehicle to move into oncoming traffic. The impact was so severe that the vehicles are now only remnants.
There are several common causes of accidents where a driver loses control of his or her vehicle. The first deals with factors on the vehicle itself such as a blowout or an unexpected flat tire. Another cause of many wrecks is distracted driving, such as looking at a cell phone, trying to place a phone call or attempting to find something in the vehicle and taking eyes off the roadway.
At this point, the crash has occurred and now we can just hope that the young three-year-old boy pulls through.
