Elderly Woman Killed at Car Wash in Conroe

According to the Montgomery County police reporter, an elderly woman was killed recently in Conroe, Texas at a local car wash on West Davis or State Highway 10594 from the loop 336.
The decedent and her family were apparently standing outside of the car wash waiting for their vehicle to be finished when a pickup truck ran over the elderly woman. Apparently, the truck had been placed in drive instead of neutral when the truck went through the car wash and the driverless vehicle ran over the victim when exiting the car wash.
Despite the best efforts of first responders the woman was not able to survive. Reports indicate that an employee of the carwash mistakingly put the pickup truck and drive instead of neutral and that was the reason for the accident.
It is very clear, at least according to reports, that the employee working for the car wash was negligent in failing to put the pickup truck into neutral at the time it was left for the carwash. Many times carwash employees are under considerable pressure to move the vehicles through as quick as possible and that could have been a consideration in this instance.
Fortunately, the other members of the family were able to get out of the way of the pickup truck. What a terrible tragedy to have happened to this family. Police and first responders photographed the accident site and apparently there is also a videotape of the accident site.
